Honolulu Heart Walk Keeps Pumping

澳博体育app下载 employees laced up their sneakers for the 15th consecutive year to participate in the American Heart Association Heart Walk in Honolulu. More than 150 Team 澳博体育app下载 participants demonstrated their commitment to heart health and community support, raising over $9,000 for heart disease research and prevention efforts. This year’s walk took on added significance as the American Heart Association celebrated its 100th year of advancing heart health.

The Heart Walk is an annual event that unites communities to raise funds for lifesaving science and education around heart disease and stroke prevention. Team 澳博体育app下载, along with thousands of other participants, gathered early in the morning at Kapiolani Park, where they were greeted with coffee and snacks before the start of the walk. More than 4,000 participants took part in the event, with the option to choose between two scenic routes. One route took walkers around Diamond Head for 4.5 miles, while a survivor’s route went one mile around Kapiolani Park.

“Mahalo to Team 澳博体育app下载 who participated in this year’s Heart Walk and all who donated or fundraised for this great cause,” said Greg Chu, general manager, container operations, Hawaii, who led the charge as one of this year’s coaches. “We had a fantastic turnout, and it was great to be together outside of work with family and friends.”

“It’s heartening to see our 澳博体育app下载 ʻohana come together year after year for the Heart Walk, said Rex Yuri Nepomuceno, assistant safety and workers compensation manager, and co-coach for this year’s team. “We are walking not just for ourselves, but for everyone impacted by heart disease and stroke.”
